Hydrogen cleansing is one of the most popular treatments at beauty salons, and the question of whether it is worth it usually arises after seeing the price. It costs more than a conventional peel because it combines several stages in one appointment. We compare salon price lists, calculate the cost of a course and assess hydrogen cleansing against cheaper and more expensive facial treatments.

How much does hydrogen facial cleansing cost?

Hydrogen facial cleansing most often costs PLN 290 per treatment, according to 5 salon price lists collected by indekscen.pl. Half of the price lists fall within the PLN 280 ‑ 300 range, while the full range is narrow: from PLN 250 to PLN 300. This is the basic treatment, usually covering the face or the face and neck, and taking around an hour.

Some salons offer an extended version at a similar price, with electroporation and treatment of the face, neck and décolletage: it costs PLN 270 in one price list. Details and quotations from price lists are available on the hydrogen facial cleansing page.

Hydrogen cleansing: is it worth it?

Hydrogen cleansing is worth considering if you have enlarged pores, blackheads, dull and dehydrated skin, or want to cleanse your face regularly without irritation. The treatment combines a peel using water enriched with active hydrogen, suction to remove impurities, infusion of active ingredients and often a massage or mask, all in one appointment. With cheaper treatments, each of these stages may be offered as a separate service.

It is less worthwhile for inflammatory acne, deep lesions and scars. In these cases, the treatment will not replace medical care, and it is better to spend the money on a dermatologist appointment first, which usually costs PLN 260 ‑ 285 privately.

When hydrogen cleansing is usually worthwhile:

  1. Oily or combination skin with blackheads that return after a few weeks.
  2. Sensitive skin that does not tolerate manual cleansing well.
  3. Preparation for an important event, when you want a fresh-faced appearance without redness for several days.
  4. Regular skincare, once a month, instead of less frequent, more intensive treatments.

What happens during a hydrogen cleansing treatment?

A hydrogen cleansing treatment usually takes 45 to 75 minutes and involves several stages, performed with a single multifunctional head or several device attachments:

  1. Make-up removal and skin preparation, sometimes using an enzyme or mild acid.
  2. Hydrogen peeling: the head applies water enriched with active hydrogen while simultaneously extracting impurities from the pores.
  3. Infusion, which introduces a serum, for example with hyaluronic acid, often assisted by ultrasound or electroporation.
  4. Massage or lifting with an RF attachment in more expensive versions of the treatment.
  5. A mask and sunscreen to finish.

The treatment is painless, and most people can return to their daily activities immediately afterwards.

What affects the price of hydrogen cleansing?

The price of hydrogen cleansing depends mainly on the treatment variant and area covered. The basic face-only version is the cheapest, while including the face, neck and décolletage, adding an ampoule or combining it with another treatment increases the price. The city and standard of the salon also matter: chain salons in large cities usually have prices closer to the upper end of PLN 280 ‑ 300. We do not yet publish local medians for individual cities because we have too few price lists from any one city.

Hydrogen cleansing or cavitation peeling?

Hydrogen cleansing usually costs PLN 290, while cavitation peeling costs around PLN 120, so there is a clear price difference. Cavitation peeling exfoliates the epidermis with ultrasound waves and cleanses the pores, but it is a single-stage treatment. Hydrogen cleansing is a multi-stage treatment in which the peel is only the beginning.

Treatment Typical price What it includes Who it is for
Cavitation peeling PLN 85 ‑ 155 exfoliation and pore cleansing a quick refresh, low budget
Cavitation peeling with sonophoresis around PLN 180 peeling and infusion of active ingredients better skincare for less
Hydrogen cleansing PLN 280 ‑ 300 peeling, extraction, infusion, mask comprehensive cleansing in one appointment
Microneedle mesotherapy PLN 535 ‑ 725 injections of active ingredients into the skin rejuvenation, not cleansing

If your main priority is cleansing your pores, cavitation peeling with sonophoresis for around PLN 180 can be a sensible compromise. If you want to cleanse, moisturise and soothe your skin in one appointment, hydrogen cleansing offers more at a higher price. Microneedle mesotherapy is a different category: it improves firmness and hydration in the deeper layers of the skin rather than treating blackheads.

How much does a course of hydrogen cleansing treatments cost?

Based on the median, a course of four hydrogen cleansing treatments costs around PLN 1,200, typically PLN 1,100 ‑ 1,200. Salons usually recommend 4 to 6 treatments at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks, followed by one maintenance treatment a month. Six treatments cost around PLN 1,700.

Many salons offer discounted packages, so ask about the price of a course before your first appointment. A single treatment before an important occasion can also be worthwhile, but the effect will not last as long.

How long do the effects of hydrogen cleansing last?

The effects of hydrogen cleansing usually last for 2 to 4 weeks, roughly the length of the epidermal renewal cycle. The pores then begin to fill again, particularly on oily skin. This is why the treatment delivers the best results as a course combined with good skincare at home.

Does hydrogen cleansing remove blackheads?

Hydrogen cleansing removes superficial blackheads and impurities from the pores, but it usually will not remove deep, closed comedones completely. For this type of skin, a beautician may combine it with gentle manual cleansing, which can increase the price of the treatment. Ask about this before your appointment so you know the total cost.

What should you avoid after hydrogen cleansing?

After hydrogen cleansing, the skin is more sensitive for around 24 hours. Beauticians usually give similar advice:

  • Do not apply make-up for several hours or longer.
  • Avoid saunas, swimming pools and intense exercise on the day of the treatment.
  • Do not sunbathe and use sunscreen for several days.
  • Stop using acids and retinoids for several days unless your beautician advises otherwise.

Hydrogen cleansing at home: is it worthwhile?

Home hydrogen cleansing devices are available in shops, but we do not yet collect their prices. Home equipment is less powerful than professional salon devices with several heads and does not provide the results of a complete multi-stage treatment. It can supplement salon appointments, but it is not a full replacement for a treatment costing around PLN 290.

How can you avoid overpaying for hydrogen cleansing?

Compare offers based on what the treatment includes, not on the word “premium”. Ask whether the price includes a mask, ampoule and massage, which area the treatment covers and how long it takes. Check whether the salon offers a course of treatments at a better price. For problem skin, it is better to start with a consultation rather than buying a course straight away.
