At a glance (as at 5 October 2026)
- Straightening one alloy wheel usually costs PLN 115 ‑ 235, while the median from price lists is PLN 140.
- Straightening a steel wheel costs about PLN 68 per wheel, which is less than for an alloy wheel.
- Straightening a set of four alloy wheels typically costs PLN 460 ‑ 940.
- Painting a set of four alloy wheels most often costs PLN 840, excluding straightening.
- The median price for straightening an alloy wheel is based on 5 price lists and articles collected by indekscen.pl.

A buckled wheel makes itself known through steering-wheel vibration at 80 to 120 km/h, air leaking from the tyre or runout visible during balancing. The good news is that straightening costs much less than a new wheel. The bad news is that workshop price lists vary severalfold because one gives the price for a small steel wheel and another for a large alloy wheel with a crack. We have collected prices from public price lists and articles to distinguish between these cases.
How much does it cost to straighten alloy wheels?
Straightening an alloy wheel most often costs PLN 140 per wheel, according to 5 price lists and articles collected by indekscen.pl. Half of the prices fall within PLN 115 ‑ 235, with the cheapest offers starting at PLN 80 and the most expensive reaching PLN 480.
This wide variation is mainly due to diameter. Workshops and motoring articles give separate prices for 15 to 17-inch wheels and larger sizes, while the price for 18, 19 and 20-inch wheels can be twice as high. The extent of the damage also matters: minor runout can be corrected in fifteen minutes, while a dented rim edge caused by hitting a pothole requires heating and several attempts.

Wheel straightening price list: alloy wheels, steel wheels and refurbishment in one table
Straightening steel wheels is clearly cheaper than straightening alloy wheels: the median for a steel wheel is about PLN 68 per wheel. Steel is malleable, so it can be straightened without heating and without the risk of cracking. Below is a summary of services that commonly appear on the same bill.
| Service | Median | Typically | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alloy wheel straightening | PLN 140 | PLN 115 ‑ 235 | 5 |
| Wheel straightening | PLN 105 | PLN 88 ‑ 145 | 4 |
| Alloy wheel refurbishment | PLN 125 | PLN 94 ‑ 175 | 4 |
| Painting (refurbishing) alloy wheels | PLN 840 | PLN 550 ‑ 900 | 5 |
Median and typical range from public price lists, as at 5 October 2026. Each price includes a source and quotation on the service page.
In practice, workshops charge as follows:
| Service | Typical price | What to watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Straightening 1 alloy wheel | PLN 115 ‑ 235 | price increases with diameter |
| Straightening 1 steel wheel | about PLN 68 | usually without heating |
| Straightening 4 alloy wheels | PLN 460 ‑ 940 | ask about a discount for a set |
| Refurbishing 1 wheel (painting) | PLN 94 ‑ 175 | special colours cost more |
| Painting a set of 4 alloy wheels | PLN 550 ‑ 900 | sandblasting may be included |
| Painting a set of 4 steel wheels | about PLN 480 | cheaper than alloy wheels |
The ‘from’ rate in a price list usually applies to a small wheel with minor runout. If you have 18-inch or larger wheels, expect a price in the upper half of the range.
How much does it cost to straighten 4 wheels?
Straightening four alloy wheels usually costs PLN 460 ‑ 940, calculated by multiplying the typical price range per wheel by four. However, an entire set rarely needs straightening: after hitting a kerb or pothole, usually only one or two wheels are buckled, while the runout of the others remains within tolerance.
Before paying for all four, ask for each wheel to be measured on the machine. The workshop should show you the runout reading before and after straightening. You will pay less for a set of steel wheels because straightening one costs about PLN 68, although there are few sources here and the price depends more heavily on the workshop.
How long does wheel straightening take?
Straightening one wheel usually takes 1 to 3 hours, depending on the extent of the damage. Minor runout can be corrected quickly, while a dented rim edge that requires heating takes longer. Many workshops can complete the service on the same day if you bring the wheels in the morning.
You also need to allow time for removing the tyre, then refitting and balancing it after straightening. If the wheels are also being painted, the wait will be longer: refurbishment with sandblasting and painting takes from several working days to several weeks for a full restoration that includes stripping the old paint.
Can alloy wheels be straightened?
Alloy wheels can be straightened, and they account for most of the jobs in the price lists we have collected. Aluminium is less malleable than steel, however, so the workshop heats the damaged area and straightens it gradually. Straightening carried out this way is safe, provided the wheel has no cracks.
A cracked alloy wheel is a separate matter. Some workshops weld cracks and add this to the price, which service descriptions indicate can significantly increase the bill. A crack near a spoke or the hub, in turn, is a sign that the wheel is better replaced because this is where the greatest forces are transferred.
Is wheel straightening worthwhile?
Wheel straightening is almost always worthwhile when the damage affects the rim edge or barrel because the cost per wheel, usually PLN 115 ‑ 235, is lower than that of a new alloy wheel in the same design. This is particularly true of factory wheels, which can be difficult to buy individually, while choosing a different design means paying for four new ones.
When it is not worthwhile:
- The wheel has a crack in a spoke or near the bolt holes. Welding in this area is risky.
- It is a cheap steel wheel with a badly crushed rim edge. A used steel wheel may cost about the same as straightening.
- The wheel has already been straightened several times in the same place. The material becomes weaker.
- The runout is severe and the wheel is due to be refurbished anyway. In that case, compare the cost of a full refurbishment with buying a new set.
How much does it cost to refurbish and paint 4 wheels?
Painting a set of four alloy wheels most often costs PLN 840 (typically PLN 550 ‑ 900). The price depends on the size, method (powder coating or a conventional paint system) and colour: black and silver are the cheapest, while chrome, matt finishes and RAL colours cost extra. Steel wheels are cheaper, with a median of about PLN 480 per set.
The median for refurbishing a single wheel is PLN 125. If the wheels are buckled and scratched, have them straightened and painted at the same workshop. This ensures the wheel is straightened before painting, rather than afterwards, when pressure from the machine could damage the fresh coating. Details are available at painting (refurbishing) alloy wheels and alloy wheel refurbishment.
How can you avoid overpaying for wheel straightening?
- Give the wheel diameter and width when requesting a quote. The ‘from’ price in a price list usually applies to a small wheel.
- Ask whether tyre fitting and balancing are included in the price. Most price lists exclude them and charge for them separately.
- Ask for the runout to be measured before and after. Good machines display the result on a screen.
- Check that the workshop does not claim to ‘straighten’ cracks. A crack requires welding or wheel replacement, not straightening alone.
- Combine the visit with your seasonal wheel change. The tyres need to be removed anyway, so you pay for fitting only once. We cover the costs in the article how much does tyre replacement cost.
Hitting a pothole hard enough to buckle a wheel often also results in the need for wheel alignment and a suspension inspection. If the car needs to be towed, we cover the cost in the article how much does a tow truck cost per km.
Why do our prices differ from workshop price lists?
Individual workshop price lists usually quote the lowest rate, while guide articles give broad ranges. We show the median and typical range from several sources at once, with a date and a verbatim quotation for each price. We do not yet have wheel-straightening prices for individual cities, so treat the median as a reference point when speaking to a workshop.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to straighten one alloy wheel?
Prostowanie jednej felgi aluminiowej kosztuje najczęściej PLN 140. Najtańsze warsztaty biorą od PLN 80, a za dużą, mocno wygiętą felgę trzeba liczyć nawet PLN 480.
Can buckled wheels be balanced?
How are wheels straightened?
Is it worth sandblasting wheels?
How much does it cost to send four wheels to a workshop?
