What affects the price
- type of engine: petrol or diesel (diesel engines usually cost more to repair)
- extent of the damage and number of components replaced (pistons, rings, bearing shells, seals)

How much does a complete engine overhaul cost?
A full engine rebuild usually costs from PLN 6000 to 20 000, although a less complex repair (e.g. replacing piston rings) may cost from PLN 2000 to 4000 (2025 prices).
How much does a mechanic charge to replace an engine?
Garages usually charge PLN 1500 to PLN 4000 in labour alone to replace an engine with another one, depending on the car model and engine type.
