This is why we calculate the cost of the entire course here and compare it with waxing, which must be repeated every few weeks. How much does permanent laser hair removal cost?
Permanent laser hair removal costs as much as a full course of treatments, not a single visit. The median price of one treatment for a small body area is PLN 160. The recommended course consists of 4 to 6 treatments at intervals of 4 to 8 weeks, so for one small area you should budget:

For six treatments, the typical cost of a course is PLN 810 ‑ 1,800. If you want to treat several areas at once (underarms, bikini area and lower legs), the costs add up, although clinics often offer a package discount.
In practice, “permanent” means a lasting reduction in hair growth: some follicles stop producing hair, while any hair that grows back is usually finer and lighter. Some people may need a single maintenance treatment after several years, which is worth including in the budget.
Laser hair removal or waxing: which is cheaper?
The initial cost of laser hair removal is roughly the same as a year of regular waxing. Waxing has to be repeated for years, so laser hair removal is cheaper in the long term. One waxing visit for a small area usually costs PLN 95 ‑ 150, with a median of PLN 120. Hair grows back after a few weeks, so a visit every 5 weeks means around ten visits per year.

In the first year, both expenses are of a similar order, but laser hair removal becomes increasingly cost-effective with each subsequent year because waxing costs continue to accumulate, while the laser course has already been paid for. Waxing does have some advantages: it does not require a course of treatments, can be done throughout the year and is available at almost every salon. Laser works best on dark hair and light skin, while it is ineffective on blonde, red or grey hair, so waxing may be the only sensible option for these hair colours.
Laser bikini hair removal: price and what affects it
Laser bikini hair removal usually costs the same as treatment for a small or medium-sized area, depending on its extent: a classic bikini treatment is cheaper than a full (Brazilian) bikini treatment. We do not have a separate median for the bikini area alone because price lists define this area differently. The reference point is the median for a small area, PLN 160, and the typical range of PLN 135 ‑ 295; a full bikini treatment is priced closer to the upper end of the range.
For comparison, the bikini area is one of the small waxing areas, with a median price of PLN 120 per visit. For bikini hair removal, the difference between laser and waxing also comes down to comfort: waxing this area can be painful, while laser treatment does not require you to wait for the hair to grow back before your appointment.
How much does laser hair removal for several areas at once cost?
A course of six laser hair removal treatments for two small areas, such as the underarms and classic bikini area, costs around PLN 1,900 based on median prices, before any clinic discount. Three small areas cost around PLN 2,900. When treating several areas at once, it is worth negotiating: clinics are often happy to reduce the package price when all areas are treated during one visit, as this reduces the time required from the laser and staff. You can also ask whether the package can be paid for in interest-free instalments.
What affects the price of laser hair removal?
The price of laser hair removal depends primarily on the size of the body area: prices in the price lists we collected range from PLN 110 to PLN 430 per treatment. The most important factors are:
- Size of the area. The upper lip and underarms are small areas, while the legs and back are large and may cost several times as much.
- Number of treatments in the package. Packages of 4 to 6 treatments have a lower price per treatment than individual visits.
- Type of laser. Newer diode and alexandrite lasers can be more expensive, but also faster.
- Special offers. Clinics often reduce their prices outside the summer season, as treatments are best performed in autumn and winter, when the skin is not tanned.
Are results visible after 1 laser hair removal session?
After the first laser hair removal session, some hair falls out within a few weeks, but one session is not enough to produce lasting results. The laser only works on hair in the growth phase, and only some follicles are in this phase at any given time. This is why clinics recommend 4 to 6 treatments at intervals of 4 to 8 weeks, and you need to include the entire course in your budget, which costs around PLN 960 for a small area.
How long do the effects of laser hair removal last?
The effects of laser hair removal after a full course usually last for years, but the result is not always complete. Hair can grow back because of hormonal changes (pregnancy, menopause or certain medicines), so clinics offer individual maintenance treatments. When calculating costs over several years, it is sensible to allow for one such treatment, meaning an additional cost of around PLN 160 per area.
Laser hair removal with PCOS or varicose veins: when should you consult a doctor?
If you have PCOS, hormonal disorders, varicose veins or skin conditions, or take medicines that increase sensitivity to light, you should consult a doctor before having laser hair removal. For excessive hair growth caused by hormonal factors, the effects of laser treatment may not last as long because the body continues to stimulate new follicles. If you have varicose veins, the clinic may avoid the affected area. We cannot make this decision on behalf of a doctor: the median price of a private dermatology appointment is PLN 270, and a reputable clinic will conduct its own consultation before the first treatment.
How can you avoid overpaying for laser hair removal?
- Compare the price of the entire course, not just one treatment: the cheapest individual treatment does not always mean the cheapest package.
- Ask how many treatments the package includes and whether a maintenance treatment is included or available at a discount.
- Check how the clinic defines the area: price lists may specify dimensions (for example, a square with sides several centimetres long), while “bikini” can mean different things at different clinics.
