How much does rodent control for mice in a house cost?
Rodent control for mice in a detached house costs around PLN 330 per service, while in a flat it most often costs PLN 250, according to 6 price lists and articles collected by indekscen.pl. Half of the offers for rodent control in rodent control flats fall within the range of PLN 250 ‑ 325. A house costs more because it has more potential entry points for rodents, including a basement, garage, loft and boiler room, so the technician sets up more control points.
The house price is based on a single price list, so treat it as a guide. For a larger house with outbuildings, the company will usually carry out an inspection before calculating how many stations are needed.
| Rodent control: option | Median | Typically | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic service | PLN 250 | PLN 250 ‑ 325 | 6 |

How much does rat control cost?
Rat control usually costs the same as mouse control or slightly more, with company price lists ranging from PLN 150 to PLN 400 for a one-off service in a flat or small house. Companies rarely charge different prices for mice and rats. The difference becomes apparent in practice: rats are more likely to require additional stations, several follow-up visits and finding the route by which they enter the building, such as a damaged drain grille.
The most expensive offers among our sources, at around PLN 400, include a visit with several rodent bait stations. If rats appear regularly, for example near a restaurant, warehouse or residential community bin store, a subscription costing around PLN 150 per month may be cheaper than repeated one-off call-outs.
What does rodent control cover and what is included in the price list?
Rodent control usually includes setting traps or locked bait stations and a follow-up inspection, which involves checking the control points, replenishing the bait, removing dead rodents and updating the records. A typical rodent control price list by service looks like this:
| Price list item | Price according to company price lists | When it is useful |
|---|---|---|
| Rodent control in a flat | PLN 250 ‑ 325 | mice in a block of flats, individual rooms |
| Rodent control in a detached house | around PLN 330 | house with a basement, garage or loft |
| Additional trap or station | around PLN 35 | larger area, outbuildings |
| Subscription-based monitoring | around PLN 150 per month | businesses, residential communities, food premises |
Before ordering, ask how many follow-up visits are included in the price. Some companies charge only for setting the traps and add a fee for every subsequent visit. Also ask whether the company removes dead rodents and used traps, as disposal may be charged separately.
Is rodent control charged per m²?
Rodent control in flats and houses is rarely charged per m². Price lists usually give a fee for the service, such as PLN 250 for a flat, plus a charge for additional stations. The size of the property matters indirectly: the larger the area, the more control points need to be set up. Rates per square metre are mainly used for halls, warehouses and industrial premises, where the company will still provide a quote after an inspection.
The price of rodent control depends on:
- Type of property. A flat is the cheapest, a house costs more, and commercial premises are priced individually.
- Number of traps and stations. Each additional control point costs around PLN 35.
- Number of follow-up visits. One follow-up inspection included in the price is standard, while further visits cost extra.
- Travel and rodent disposal. A surcharge may apply outside the city or when the property is far from the company’s base.
- Scale of the problem. One visit will not be enough for a large rat population.
How long does rodent control take?
The technician’s visit itself usually takes between half an hour and an hour in a flat, and longer in a house with outbuildings. The entire rodent control process, however, takes several weeks: the rodents must eat the bait, and rodenticides act with a delay so that the rest of the colony does not associate them with danger. During this time, the technician returns for follow-up visits, replenishes the bait and removes dead animals.
Unlike insect control, rodent control does not usually require you to leave the flat. The stations are locked and the bait does not give off fumes. Leaving for a few hours is necessary during insect treatments, as explained in our article bedbug control: price and preparation.
Who pays for rodent control?
Rodent control is usually paid for by the building owner or manager. In a block of flats, rodent control in basements, refuse chutes and bin stores is commissioned by the housing cooperative or residential community and funded through residents’ service charges. If the mice are only in your flat or detached house, you pay for the service yourself. In a rented flat, the tenancy agreement determines who pays, and if in doubt, it is worth asking a lawyer or the property manager.
Some municipalities specify areas and dates for compulsory rodent control in their cleanliness regulations, for example in spring and autumn. In such cases, the obligation applies to property owners in the relevant area. You can find information at the municipal office or on its website.
Rodent control, insect control or disinfection: what is the difference and how much do they cost?
Rodent control eliminates rodents, insect control eliminates insects, and disinfection destroys microorganisms, for example through ozone treatment. Each of these services has a different price:
| Service | Median | Typically | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rodent control | PLN 250 | PLN 250 ‑ 325 | 6 |
| Insect control (bedbugs, cockroaches) | PLN 350 | PLN 335 ‑ 365 | 3 |
| Ozone treatment of a flat | PLN 325 | PLN 275 ‑ 395 | 6 |
Median and typical range from public price lists, as at 5 October 2026. Each price includes a source and quotation on the service page.
Insect control for cockroaches usually costs PLN 335 ‑ 365 for a flat, while a bedbug treatment costs around PLN 850. The median price of ozone treatment for a small flat is PLN 325. Ozone treatment does not kill rodents, but it can help after rodent control if the smell of a dead animal remains in a wall or beneath the floor.
What is the best way to deter rodents and avoid paying twice?
The most effective protection against mice and rats is to block their access to food and the building, rather than using repellents. Ultrasonic devices and scents such as mint or vinegar work only briefly or not at all, because rodents quickly become accustomed to them. To prevent the problem from returning every season:
- Seal entry points. Mice can pass through a gap as wide as a pencil. Fit steel mesh over ventilation openings, seal gaps around pipes and cables, and make sure garage doors close tightly.
- Store food securely. Keep grain, pet food and bird seed in sealed containers, and rubbish in bins with lids.
- Tidy the surroundings. Keep the compost bin away from the house and do not leave piles of wood or rubble against the walls.
- Compare offers on the same basis. Ask about the number of stations, follow-up visits and disposal. A cheap offer with one visit may cost more once subsequent call-outs are added.
- Consider a subscription if the problem recurs. For around PLN 150 per month, the company monitors the stations on an ongoing basis.
After successful rodent control, it is worth cleaning the areas where rodents were present. Droppings and urine can carry diseases, so wear gloves and use wet cleaning methods. We have collected professional cleaning prices in the article how much does flat cleaning cost.
