At a glance (as at 5 October 2026)
- An hour-long full-body relaxation massage usually costs 185 ‑ 270 PLN/60 min, according to 4 massage practice price lists collected by indekscen.pl.
- The cheapest relaxation massage in our sources costs 160 PLN/60 min, while the most expensive costs 338 PLN/60 min per hour.

Massage prices can be surprising: the same ‘60-minute relaxation massage’ can cost as much in one studio as half an hour does in another. The differences depend on the location, duration, type of massage and whether you are paying to relax at a spa or for treatment from a physiotherapist. Below, we compare prices from publicly available practice price lists to help you assess whether an offer is fairly priced.
How much does a 1-hour massage cost?
An hour-long full-body relaxation massage most often costs 220 PLN/60 min, according to 4 massage practice price lists collected by indekscen.pl. Half of the offers fall within the 185 ‑ 270 PLN/60 min range, with the cheapest costing 160 PLN/60 min and the most expensive 338 PLN/60 min. Sessions listed in price lists usually last from 55 to 60 minutes, with a few minutes of the hour set aside for preparation and a brief consultation.
Small massage studios and beauty salons have the lowest prices, while chain spas in large cities and hotel wellness centres charge the most. At more expensive venues, you also pay for the extras, such as a bathrobe, tea after the treatment, a sauna or a shower.
| Service | Median | Typically | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Relaxation massage | 220 PLN/60 min | 185 ‑ 270 PLN/60 min | 4 |
| Physiotherapist appointment | PLN 180 | PLN 160 ‑ 200 | 98 |

How much does a couples massage cost?
A 60-minute relaxation massage for two costs around PLN 400 per couple. This is less than two individual massages, which would cost around PLN 440 in total. A couples massage usually takes place in one room, with two massage therapists working at the same time.
For now, we have this price from only one price list, so treat it as a guide. A couples massage is a popular anniversary or Valentine’s Day gift, so practices often sell it as a voucher. Before buying a voucher, check:
- the expiry date and whether it can be extended,
- whether the voucher is valid at weekends, as some practices exclude Saturdays,
- whether the price includes anything besides the massage, such as sauna access or a drink,
- the cancellation policy, so you do not lose the voucher if you fall ill.
Relaxation massage or physiotherapy appointment: which should you choose?
Choose a relaxation massage for around 220 PLN/60 min when you want to unwind and release tension after a stressful week. Choose a physiotherapy appointment, typically costing PLN 160 ‑ 200, if you are in pain or have an injury or strain. A physiotherapist starts with a consultation and assessment, then selects manual therapy, exercises or other treatments.
| Feature | Relaxation massage | Physiotherapy appointment |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | relaxation, releasing tension | pain treatment, restoring mobility |
| Practitioner | massage therapist, cosmetologist | physiotherapist |
| Duration | usually 55 to 60 minutes | usually 30 or 60 minutes |
| Typical cost | 185 ‑ 270 PLN/60 min | PLN 160 ‑ 200 |
| Assessment before treatment | brief consultation | consultation and physiotherapy assessment |
Prices for both services are similar, so if you have back pain, there is no reason to save money by choosing a spa massage instead of a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist may also provide therapeutic massage as part of the appointment. With a doctor’s referral, some physiotherapy treatments are also available through the NFZ (Polish public health insurance), although waiting times are usually longer.

How much does a kobido, Thai or Balinese massage cost?
We do not yet publish separate medians for kobido, Thai, Balinese and lomi lomi massages because we do not have enough price lists for them. For comparison, the benchmark is an hour-long full-body relaxation massage costing 220 PLN/60 min.
What we know about these massages without quoting prices:
- Kobido is a facial massage, usually shorter than a full-body massage and mainly offered by beauty salons.
- Thai massage is performed through clothing on a mat and involves stretching. Sessions often last longer than an hour.
- Balinese massage combines relaxation techniques with oils and is commonly offered by spas.
- Lomi lomi nui is a Hawaiian massage performed using the forearms, usually during longer sessions.
For these massages, compare the price per minute rather than per treatment, as session lengths vary more between practices than they do for classic massage.
What determines the price of a massage?
The price of a massage depends mainly on the duration of the session, the venue and the type of massage. According to the price lists we use, these factors have the greatest impact on the bill:
- Duration. Massages last from 30 to 90 minutes. A longer session costs more, but the price per minute may be lower.
- Venue. Chain spas may be more expensive than small studios.
- Type of massage. Classic and relaxation massages are cheaper than aromatherapy or candle massages.
- Number of people. A couples massage costs more than an individual one, but less than two separate treatments.
- Packages. Multi-visit passes reduce the price of each massage.
When should you not have a massage?
You should not have a massage if you have a fever, infection, recent injury, skin inflammation or suspected thrombosis. If you have a chronic illness, are pregnant, have recently had surgery or have cancer, ask your doctor before having a massage. A good massage therapist will ask about your health before the treatment.
If you have a slipped disc or other back problems, do not book a relaxation massage without professional advice. Ask a doctor or physiotherapist whether massage is suitable and which type to choose. A physiotherapist will tailor the techniques to your condition. The same applies to neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
How can you avoid overpaying for a massage?
- Compare the price for 60 minutes, not for a ‘treatment’. An offer advertising a ‘massage for less’ may simply be shorter.
- Ask about multi-visit passes. If you have massages regularly, for example once a week, the monthly saving can be substantial.
- Do not pay for extras you do not need. A small studio with an experienced massage therapist will provide the same massage for less than a hotel spa.
- See a physiotherapist if you are in pain. The price is similar and the therapeutic benefit is greater.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a massage therapist charge per hour?
Masażysta w gabinecie bierze za godzinę masażu relaksacyjnego zwykle 185 ‑ 270 PLN/60 min, a mediana to 220 PLN/60 min. Najtańsze małe studia zaczynają od 160 PLN/60 min, a sieciowe spa w dużych miastach sięgają 338 PLN/60 min.
Is a massage package cheaper?
Zwykle tak: wiele gabinetów sprzedaje karnety na kilka masaży z rabatem. Cztery masaże relaksacyjne w cenie pojedynczych to około PLN 880, więc karnet warto porównać z tą kwotą.
How much does an at-home massage cost?
Can massage replace physiotherapy?
