One-off flat cleaning by a company in Poland most often costs PLN 265 (typically PLN 160 ‑ 350), depending on the floor area and scope of work. Post-renovation cleaning usually costs 20 PLN/m².

The price of cleaning a flat depends on three things: its floor area, the scope of work and how the company calculates its charges. Some quote a fixed price for the entire flat, others charge per square metre, while others charge by the hour. There are also services that are almost never included in the basic cleaning price: window cleaning, upholstery cleaning and carpet cleaning. Below, we compare prices from cleaning company price lists and guides collected in our price index.

How much does one-off flat cleaning cost?

The median price of one-off flat cleaning is PLN 265. Half of the offers fall within the PLN 160 ‑ 350 range, the cheapest we found is PLN 65, and the most expensive is PLN 1,000. This wide variation is due to floor area: the lower end usually applies to studio flats, while the upper end applies to large three- and four-bedroom flats.

Standard cleaning includes vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting furniture and surfaces, and basic kitchen and bathroom cleaning. It does not include cleaning windows, cleaning the inside of the fridge and oven, or cleaning upholstery and carpets. A thorough clean of the bathroom alone as an additional service costs around PLN 290, so if your bathroom needs limescale removal, it is worth asking what the basic price covers.

What affects the price of flat cleaning?

Floor area and the number of rooms are the most important factors, but the scope of work matters just as much. Companies usually divide the service into three levels: basic cleaning (routine cleaning), detailed cleaning (including cupboard fronts, doors and skirting boards) and deep cleaning, for example after a tenant moves out or before a flat is sold. Each successive level means more hours of work and therefore a higher price.

The condition of the flat also matters. Limescale in the bathroom, grease on the extractor hood or pet hair can add an hour or two to the job. A reputable company will therefore ask for details or photos before quoting a price, and an ‘from’ price in a price list is always a starting point, not the final amount.

How much does an hour of cleaning cost?

Hourly charging is less common than a fixed price and is mainly used for express cleaning, for example after a party. The rate is then around 100 PLN/h per hour. For post-renovation cleaning, companies that charge by the hour take around 70 PLN/h.

An hourly rate is convenient when you know exactly what needs to be done. For a larger scope of work, it is better to request a fixed price, as the company then bears the risk of the job taking longer. Before requesting a quote, describe the floor area, the number of rooms and bathrooms, and the condition of the flat, preferably with a few photos.

How much does flat cleaning cost in different cities?

We have prices for 16 localities, usually from two to five companies per city. Treat them with caution: if we have mainly received price lists for large flats in a particular city, the local median will be higher even if the rates per square metre are similar.

How much does post-renovation flat cleaning cost?

Post-renovation cleaning is different from ordinary cleaning: construction dust must be removed from every surface, including the insides of cupboards and window sills, and traces of paint, grout and adhesive must be cleaned away. Companies therefore charge per square metre. The median is 20 PLN/m², typically 17 ‑ 20 PLN/m².

For a 50 m² flat, this works out at around PLN 1,000 (typically PLN 850 ‑ 1,000), and for a 70 m² flat, around PLN 1,400. Removing leftover materials, such as tiles, panels and paint containers, is usually charged separately by the hour, at around 100 PLN/h. How much does window cleaning cost?

Companies most commonly charge per window section: the median is PLN 23, typically PLN 22 ‑ 32. A double-section window costs around PLN 52, while the rate when charging by glass area is around 10 PLN/m². Cleaning ten window sections in an average flat costs around PLN 230.

The price includes cleaning the glass on both sides. Frames, window sills, blinds and roller blinds are usually separate items in the price list. Cleaning at height using rope access is considerably more expensive.

How much does upholstery and carpet cleaning cost?

Upholstery cleaning is charged per item of furniture. The median for an armchair is PLN 55, a two-seater sofa costs around PLN 220, and a large corner sofa around PLN 285. Cushions may be charged separately, while heavy soiling increases the rate.

Carpet cleaning is charged per square metre. A synthetic carpet costs 20 PLN/m², typically 16 ‑ 26 PLN/m², so a 2 by 3 metre carpet costs around PLN 120. A wool carpet costs around 23 PLN/m², while a viscose or silk carpet costs around 53 PLN/m², as delicate fibres require a different method.

Is weekly cleaning cheaper?

Cleaning companies usually offer a lower price per visit for regular bookings because a flat cleaned every week is less dirty and quicker to clean. We do not yet list recurring flat-cleaning prices separately in the index, so we can only give an upper limit: four one-off cleaning visits per month cost around PLN 1,100. The actual amount under a subscription is usually lower, so always ask for a package price.

In addition to flats, cleaning companies also offer grave cleaning, particularly before 1 November: a one-off clean of a single grave usually costs PLN 120.

How can you avoid overpaying for cleaning?

• Compare the same scope of work. ‘Standard cleaning’ may mean different things at two companies. Ask for a list of tasks.
• Ask about cleaning products and equipment. Check whether the company brings its own or uses yours.
• Combine services. Adding window or upholstery cleaning to a general clean may be cheaper than arranging a separate visit.
• Before moving out of a rental property. It is worth booking end-of-tenancy cleaning before returning the keys, as the cost is usually lower than a deduction from your deposit.
