Eyelash extensions are convenient: no mascara in the morning and no smudged make-up after swimming. Before your first appointment, however, you may have a few questions: which method to choose, how much a full set and infills cost, and whether lifting your natural lashes would be cheaper. We compare salon price lists and methods so that you can easily calculate the cost for a full year.

How much do 1-to-1 eyelash extensions cost?

A full set of 1-to-1 eyelash extensions most commonly costs PLN 180, according to 3 salon price lists collected by indekscen.pl. Prices range from PLN 180 to PLN 230. The 1-to-1 method involves attaching one artificial lash to each natural lash, so the result looks natural: the lashes are longer and slightly more curled, but not much fuller.

The 1-to-1 method is the cheapest because the lash technician uses one lash at a time and does not need to prepare fans. It is a good choice for your first appointment and for people whose natural lashes are already fairly full. You can find all prices and their sources at eyelash extensions.

How much do volume methods and special effects cost?

Volume eyelash extensions cost around PLN 220, which is more than a 1-to-1 set. With volume methods (2D, 3D and fuller), the lash technician attaches a fan of several very fine lashes to each natural lash. The work takes longer and requires more material, hence the higher price.

Special effects, such as cat-eye, wet-look lashes or Kim Kardashian-style sets, are usually volume methods with a different arrangement of lengths. Salons generally price them at the same level as volume methods or higher, and we do not have separate medians for each effect.

Method Set price Effect Best for
1-to-1 (classic) PLN 180 ‑ 205 natural-looking length first appointment, naturally full lashes
Volume (2D, 3D and fuller) around PLN 220 visibly fuller lashes sparse lashes, make-up effect
Lash lift (without extensions) PLN 160 ‑ 170 curled natural lashes natural effect, low maintenance

Are 1-to-1 eyelash extensions worth it?

1-to-1 lashes are worthwhile if you want a natural effect and your own lashes are in good condition, as the set costs less and infills are simpler. On sparse or short lashes, the 1-to-1 method produces a subtle effect, and many people switch after their first set to volume methods costing around PLN 220. The difference in the price of a set is small, so your desired look, rather than the price, should determine your choice.

How long do eyelash extensions last and how much does an infill cost?

Eyelash extensions last from 2 to 4 weeks because they fall out with the natural lashes, which are continually renewed. An infill is cheaper than a new set, but its price increases with the time since your last appointment: you pay less after two weeks than after four. An infill by a different lash technician can cost more because they need to correct someone else’s application.

An example of the annual cost: if you had a new 1-to-1 set applied every four weeks instead of getting infills, a year of eyelash extensions would cost around PLN 2,300. Infills reduce the cost, depending on the salon’s price list. A lash lift every 7 weeks costs around PLN 1,100 per year.

Eyelash extensions or a lash lift: which should you choose?

A lash lift usually costs PLN 160 ‑ 170 and lasts from 6 to 8 weeks, making it considerably cheaper than extensions, but it does not lengthen or thicken the lashes. The treatment listed in price lists as lash lift lifts and curls your natural lashes and, when combined with tinting, gives them a mascara-like effect without mascara. The version with a nourishing ‘botox’ treatment costs around PLN 260.

Choose extensions if you want visibly longer or fuller lashes. Choose a lash lift if your natural lashes are long but straight and point downwards. A similar choice applies to eyebrows, as discussed in our article brow lamination or powder henna.

How long does an eyelash extension treatment take?

1-to-1 eyelash extensions usually take from one and a half to two hours, while volume methods take from two to three hours. An infill takes less time, usually around an hour. You lie with your eyes closed throughout the treatment, so it is best to arrive without eye make-up or contact lenses.

UV eyelash extensions are a newer technique in which the adhesive is cured with a UV lamp, shortening the curing time and reducing fumes. Salons offering this method usually charge more than for a classic application, but we do not yet have a separate median for UV lashes.

How should you care for eyelash extensions so that they last longer?

Eyelash extensions last longest when they do not come into contact with water, steam or high temperatures for the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment, as the adhesive takes this long to cure fully. Every additional day between infills saves money, as an infill after two weeks costs less than one after four.

A few rules that help a set last longer:

  1. Avoid oils and greasy creams around the eyes. Oil breaks down the adhesive, so use an oil-free make-up remover.
  2. Brush them daily with a spoolie. This prevents the lashes from sticking together or crossing.
  3. Do not rub your eyes or sleep with your face pressed into the pillow. These are the most common causes of entire sections falling out.
  4. Do not apply mascara to artificial lashes. Removing mascara damages the application faster than anything else.
  5. Clean your lashes with a foam cleanser. Clean lashes reduce the risk of irritation and eyelid inflammation.

What are the disadvantages of eyelash extensions and when should you avoid them?

The main disadvantages of eyelash extensions are the cost of infills every few weeks, restrictions on skincare (no oils around the eyes and care when rubbing them), and the risk of weakening your natural lashes if the set is too heavy. A good lash technician selects the thickness and length to suit the condition of your natural lashes.

Contraindications generally include allergies to adhesive ingredients, inflammation of the eyes or eyelids, recent eye procedures and certain eye conditions. If in doubt, consult an ophthalmologist or doctor. At your first appointment, it is worth requesting a patch test.

How to avoid overpaying:

  • Ask about the price of infills, not just the full set. Infills determine the annual cost.
  • Return to the same lash technician. An infill of another technician’s work may cost more.
  • Do not leave too long between infills. After four weeks, you often pay almost as much as for a new set.
  • Combine treatments. Eyebrow tinting for around PLN 40 during the same appointment saves you a separate journey.
