How much does an accountancy firm charge for a PIT return and what affects the price?
An accountancy firm usually charges PLN 95 ‑ 210 for a PIT return. The price primarily depends on the type of form and the number of income sources. Factors that increase the bill include:
- Type of form. An employee’s PIT-37 is the simplest; PIT-36, PIT-28 and PIT-38 forms (stock market investments, cryptocurrencies) require more work.
- Number of income sources and attachments. Multiple contracts, rental income and foreign income require additional attachments.
- Tax reliefs. Child tax relief is straightforward, while thermal modernisation or rehabilitation relief requires supporting documents.
- Joint filing with a spouse. Two sets of documents in a single return.
- Timing. Firms may charge more for documents submitted in the final days of April.
Correcting a return due to an error by the client, for example after a forgotten PIT-11 form, usually incurs an additional fee.
2026 PIT tax return: when does filing open and what is the deadline?
The PIT return for the previous year must be filed between 15 February and 30 April. From 15 February, a prepared return is available in Your e-PIT. If you take no action by 30 April, the PIT-37 and PIT-38 returns in Your e-PIT will be approved automatically in the form prepared by the tax office, without any tax reliefs of which the office was unaware.
Other forms, such as PIT-36 and PIT-28, must be filed by the taxpayer. Deadlines falling at the weekend move to the next working day. If you are unsure which form applies to you, ask the tax office or a tax adviser.
PIT-11 and PIT-37: how does an employee file a tax return?
PIT-11 is an income statement that an employer or client sends to an employee or contractor by the end of February, and to the tax office earlier. Employees usually use it to file a PIT-37 return. The PIT-11 details are already entered in Your e-PIT, so you only need to check them.
If you have several PIT-11 forms (because you changed jobs or worked under a contract of mandate), check that the tax office has included all of them. Missing information is the most common reason for correcting a return. For a simple PIT-37 return, an accountancy firm will usually charge nearer the lower end of the range, starting at PLN 80.
Filing a joint PIT return with your spouse: when is it worthwhile?
Filing a joint PIT return with your spouse is usually worthwhile when your incomes differ significantly, especially if one spouse exceeds a tax threshold while the other earns little or nothing. Tax is then calculated on half of the combined income, which may reduce the rate applied to the higher earner.
In Your e-PIT, joint filing is selected in one spouse’s return. It is worth checking the conditions (including joint ownership of marital property throughout the year) and exceptions before filing. At an accountancy firm, a joint return usually costs more than an individual one, towards the upper end of the PLN 95 ‑ 210 range.
When should you pay for help with a PIT return, and when can you do it yourself?
Filing your PIT return yourself is sufficient if you have one or more PIT-11 forms and claim common tax reliefs, for example for children or internet expenses. It is worth paying for help if:
- you have foreign or rental income,
- you sell shares, cryptocurrencies or property,
- you claim thermal modernisation or rehabilitation relief,
- the tax office has asked you to correct your return.
For disputes with the tax office or unusual circumstances, tax adviser is the better option: an hour-long consultation costs around 450 PLN/h. People running a business usually file through their accountancy firm: accounting for a sole proprietorship costs around 260 PLN/month, but the annual return may incur an additional fee.

How can you avoid overpaying for a PIT return at an accountancy firm?
- Start with Your e-PIT. Even if you then take the matter to an accountancy firm, you can check what the tax office already knows.
- Prepare a complete set of documents. Include all PIT-11 and PIT-8C forms and invoices supporting tax reliefs. Sending additional documents later may incur an extra charge.
- Ask for the price for your specific form. Firms quote prices for individual PIT forms, usually net.
- Do not wait until the end of April. During the final days of the tax return season, firms may charge more and have less availability.
We do not yet have separate PIT tax return prices for individual cities, so the national median serves as a benchmark throughout Poland.

Frequently asked questions
How much does preparing an annual tax return cost?
Zeznanie roczne złożone samodzielnie w Twoim e-PIT nic nie kosztuje. Biuro rachunkowe bierze za nie zwykle PLN 95 ‑ 210, a przy złożonych rozliczeniach do PLN 500.
What is the difference between an accountancy firm and a tax adviser?
Biuro rachunkowe prowadzi księgi i sporządza deklaracje, a doradca podatkowy ma uprawnienia do udzielania porad podatkowych i reprezentowania podatnika. Godzina z doradcą kosztuje około 450 PLN/h, czyli więcej niż całe proste zeznanie w biurze.
What if I miss the 30 April PIT deadline?
Spóźnione zeznanie można złożyć razem z czynnym żalem, który zwykle chroni przed karą. W sprawach spóźnionych rozliczeń najlepiej zapytać doradcę podatkowego albo pracownika urzędu skarbowego.
Will an accountancy firm prepare a PIT return for someone who does not run a business?
Tak, biura rachunkowe rozliczają też pracowników, emerytów i osoby z dochodami z najmu czy giełdy. Cena zależy od formularza i liczby załączników, zwykle PLN 95 ‑ 210.
Will a virtual office prepare my PIT return?
Nie, wirtualne biuro to usługa adresowa dla firm, bez obsługi księgowej. Rozliczeniem PIT zajmuje się biuro rachunkowe albo doradca podatkowy.
