What determines the price of a stamp?
The price of a stamp depends mainly on the type of mechanism and the size of the plate, and only then on where you order it. The main factors are:
- Mechanism. A hand stamp, with a wooden handle and separate ink pad, is the cheapest. A self-inking mechanism in a plastic casing is standard for businesses. A self-inking mechanism in a metal casing costs the most but lasts for years.
- Plate size and number of lines. A small personal stamp has two or three lines. A company stamp with full details needs five or six lines and a larger casing.
- Extras. A logo, date function, numbering function or ink in a colour other than black or blue increases the price.
- Turnaround time. Production while you wait or by the next day costs more than the standard 1 to 3 working days.
- Service location. A stamp maker in the centre of a large city usually charges more than an online shop, but you can collect the stamp immediately.

How much does a personal, medical or date stamp cost?
A personal stamp usually costs the same as the most basic company stamp, namely PLN 20 ‑ 40, because it has fewer lines and fits into a small casing. They are ordered by authorised representatives, company directors, accountants and people who sign documents on behalf of a business. They usually include the person’s first name, surname and position.
A doctor’s, nurse’s or other medical professional’s stamp is essentially a personal stamp that also includes their professional licence number and specialisation. Date stamps, which have an adjustable date, and numbering stamps belong to the more expensive group, with prices closer to PLN 110. How long does it take to have a stamp made?
A stamp normally takes 1 to 3 working days to make, counting from design approval. Laser production of the plate itself takes only several minutes, so most of the wait is due to the order queue and any design revisions. For an online order, allow another day or two for delivery.
If you need the stamp by tomorrow, look for a physical shop offering express production. Many stamp makers can produce one within a few hours or even while you wait, but they charge an additional fee on top of the basic price.
What details are required for a company stamp?
No documents or certificates are required to have a company stamp made. You only need to provide the text you want on the plate. This usually includes:
- the full company name as shown in CEIDG or KRS,
- the registered office address,
- NIP (Polish tax ID) and, if required, the REGON or KRS number,
- a phone number, e‑mail address or website address, if they are to appear on the stamp,
- a logo in a vector file, if the stamp is to include one.
Copy the details from the register entry and check the design letter by letter. If an error in the NIP is noticed after production, you will need to order a new plate. Professional stamps, such as doctors’ stamps, include the professional licence number, and the stamp maker may ask for proof of it.
Should you order a stamp online or from a physical shop?
Ordering a stamp online is usually cheaper: prices at online shops start at PLN 15, and the design is created using a tool on the website. A physical shop offers faster service and lets you examine the casings before buying. A good middle ground is a stamp maker in your city that accepts orders by e‑mail and offers same-day collection.

What is the penalty for forging a stamp?
Forging another company’s or public authority’s stamp and using it on a document may be treated as document forgery, for which the Polish Criminal Code provides a penalty of between 3 months and 5 years’ imprisonment. Forging an invoice or another document is treated similarly. This is why stamp makers sometimes ask for confirmation that the person placing the order is authorised to use the company’s details. The details should always be clarified with a lawyer, not a stamp price list.
How can you avoid overpaying for a stamp?
- Do not order a metal self-inking stamp if you only stamp a few documents a month. A plastic self-inking model will be more than sufficient.
