How much does a fitted kitchen cost in 2026? Price per metre, design, worktop and installation
indekscen.pl editorial team · published 30 September 2026 · prices according to the 5 October 2026 index
A basic fitted kitchen with laminate fronts most often costs 3,250 PLN/linear metre in Poland (typically 2,750 ‑ 3,650 PLN/linear metre). A small kitchen with three metres of cabinets costs about PLN 9,800, while a complete large kitchen costs about PLN 39,000 according to price lists.

A fitted kitchen is priced differently from most furniture: not per item, but per linear metre of cabinetry, meaning the length of the run of base and wall cabinets. This is good news if you are working out your budget, as all you need is a tape measure. The bad news is that the price per metre usually excludes appliances, often excludes an expensive worktop, and the design may be charged separately. Below, we break down the cost of a kitchen using the price lists collected in our index.
How much does a linear metre of a fitted kitchen cost?
The median price per linear metre of a basic fitted kitchen with laminate fronts is 3,250 PLN/linear metre. Half of the sources fall within the range of 2,750 ‑ 3,650 PLN/linear metre, while the lowest and highest prices are 2,000 PLN/linear metre and 4,220 PLN/linear metre. The highest rates in the sources are for wooden rather than laminate furniture, clearly showing how much the front material can drive up the price.
The order from cheapest to most expensive is fairly consistent: laminate, followed by veneer, then solid wood and lacquered MDF. The second major factor is the fittings. Soft-close drawers, pull-out cargo units, magic corner mechanisms and lift-up mechanisms for wall cabinet fronts can increase the quote more than changing the colour of the fronts. The third is an island, as it adds more cabinetry finished on every side.
For comparison, bespoke wardrobe is also priced per linear metre, with a median of 3,250 PLN/linear metre. However, a kitchen usually costs more overall because it has two rows of cabinets, a worktop and many more fittings per metre.
How much does a small fitted kitchen cost, and how much does a large one cost?
For a kitchen in a block of flats with a single run of cabinets about three metres long, the cabinetry alone costs about PLN 9,800 (typically PLN 8,300 ‑ 11,000). An L-shaped kitchen with five metres of cabinets costs about PLN 16,000 (typically PLN 14,000 ‑ 18,000).
Price lists covering a complete large kitchen of 11 to 15 m² quote about PLN 39,000. According to another source, a premium kitchen with a bespoke design costs about PLN 60,000. Both figures come from individual sources, so treat them as a guide rather than the market median.
These figures suggest one simple piece of advice: first measure how many metres of cabinets you really need. Every metre you remove, for example by replacing wall cabinets with an open shelf, reduces the bill more than switching to cheaper fronts.

| Stone worktop (conglomerate) | 630 PLN/m² | 580 ‑ 950 PLN/m² | 4 |
| Furniture assembly | PLN 125 | PLN 120 ‑ 150 | 3 |

How much does a kitchen design cost?
A kitchen design alone usually costs PLN 1,700, with half of the offers falling within the range of PLN 1,400 ‑ 2,200. This price includes a functional layout, the positioning of furniture and appliances, and dimensioned drawings, while more expensive options include a 3D visualisation. A design with the designer supervising the work, including visits during the project, costs about PLN 4,000.
It is worth knowing that many kitchen studios deduct the design fee from the price of the cabinetry if you order it from them. In practice, the design is then free, but it ties you to one contractor. An independent design offers a different advantage: with completed drawings, you can obtain several quotes from joiners for exactly the same scope of work.
How much does a worktop for a fitted kitchen cost?
The price per metre of kitchen cabinetry usually includes a laminate worktop. Stone is charged separately. Engineered quartz most often costs 630 PLN/m², typically 580 ‑ 950 PLN/m², but prices vary greatly between suppliers, from 400 PLN/m² to 2,500 PLN/m². One source prices premium stone, such as sintered stone, quartzite or marble, per linear metre at about 1,150 PLN/linear metre.
A standard worktop is about 60 cm deep, so three linear metres equates to just under two square metres. At the median price for engineered quartz, the material alone would cost about PLN 1,100. Stone suppliers also charge for installation per linear metre and separately for every sink or hob cut-out, so ask for a price including installation and cut-outs, not just the slab price.
How much do kitchen installation and appliance connections cost?
A joiner who makes a fitted kitchen will usually install it and include this in the price per metre. Ready-made modules from a retailer work differently: installation is a separate service, usually charged per cabinet at about PLN 270 each. With a dozen or more cabinets, the price difference between flat-pack furniture and a kitchen made by a joiner becomes noticeably smaller.
The appliances still need to be connected. induction hob installation usually costs PLN 130, provided the kitchen already has a suitable high-power socket. If it does not, you will need an electrician: the median cost of a new electrical point including materials is PLN 170. Installing a tap onto existing connections costs about PLN 100, while replacing a kitchen tap, including the new tap, costs about PLN 250. Our index does not have separate prices for connecting a dishwasher or cooker hood, so we do not quote them. Ask the plumber or installer about these when requesting a quote for the entire job.
A bespoke kitchen or ready-made modules?
Ready-made cabinets from a retailer come in fixed widths, so kitchens with unusual dimensions are left with filler panels and unused gaps. A fitted kitchen uses every centimetre, has carcasses adapted to uneven walls and usually comes with better fittings. Modules cost less initially and are available immediately, but installation, delivery and time must be added to their price.
A sensible compromise is to combine ready-made carcasses where they fit with bespoke units only for the corner, fridge housing or cabinets beneath a sloping ceiling. Our index does not include prices for retail modules alone, so we do not compare them by price.
How much does a kitchen renovation including furniture cost?
If you are replacing not only the furniture but also the tiles, installations and appliances, it is better to calculate the cost per square metre of kitchen space. The median cost of a complete kitchen renovation including materials is 4,750 PLN/m² (typically 4,250 ‑ 4,900 PLN/m²). At this rate, an 8 m² kitchen costs about PLN 38,000, while a 12 m² kitchen costs about PLN 57,000. Dismantling and disposing of the old furniture may be charged separately. We discuss the costs of renovating an entire flat in more detail in the article how much does it cost to renovate a flat.
If the carcasses are in good condition, you do not always need a new kitchen. wrapping kitchen cabinets throughout the kitchen costs about PLN 3,000, while refurbishing or replacing only the fronts costs about PLN 2,100 per set. This is a fraction of the price of new cabinetry, although it will not change the worktop or kitchen layout.
How can you avoid overpaying for a fitted kitchen?
- Compare quotes for the same design. A linear metre can mean different things to two joiners if one includes wall cabinets and the other does not.
- Ask what is included in the price per metre. The worktop, installation, under-cabinet lighting, plinths, trim, sink and delivery can each affect the comparison.
- Spend money on fittings, not fronts. Drawers and hinges are used every day for years, while laminate fronts can easily be wrapped or replaced later.
- Install services first. Moving the sink or hob requires plumbing and electrical work, which should be completed before the furniture is measured, not afterwards.
