Facade cleaning in Poland most often costs 15 PLN/m², while half of the price lists fall within 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m². Removing green growth, mould and algae costs about 20 PLN/m². At a glance (as at 5 October 2026)
- Facade cleaning in Poland usually costs 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m², with a median of 15 PLN/m².
- Removing green growth, mould and algae from a facade costs about 20 PLN/m².
- Cleaning the facade of a house with 150 m² of walls costs about PLN 2,300, typically PLN 2,300 ‑ 2,600.
- Painting a facade, including surface preparation, usually costs 40 ‑ 47 PLN/m², several times more than cleaning alone.
- The median facade cleaning price is based on 7 price lists and articles collected by indekscen.pl.

A facade covered in green growth, grey dirt or stains does not always need painting. Pressure washing with an algae treatment is often enough and costs a fraction of the price of painting. The difficulty is that companies calculate the price per m² differently: sometimes it covers water cleaning alone, sometimes cleaning with mould and algae removal, and sometimes travel and a cherry picker are included. We compare rates from price lists and calculate the cost for a typical house.
How much does facade cleaning cost per m2?
Facade cleaning most often costs 15 PLN/m², according to 7 price lists and articles collected by indekscen.pl, while half of the rates fall within 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m². How much does cleaning a house facade cost?
Cleaning the facade of a detached house with 150 m² of external walls costs about PLN 2,300, typically PLN 2,300 ‑ 2,600. For a smaller house with 100 m² of walls, it is about PLN 1,500, while for a larger one with 250 m² it is about PLN 3,800. If the walls have extensive green growth and require mould and algae removal, expect a rate of about 20 PLN/m² per m².
How to calculate the area: measure the perimeter of the house and multiply it by the height of the walls up to the eaves, add the gable ends and then subtract large glazed areas. A single-storey house measuring 10 by 12 m has a perimeter of 44 m, so walls 3 m high give a facade area of about 130 m², including windows. Companies usually calculate the full wall area without subtracting windows because these also need to be protected.
| Facade area | Cleaning only | Cleaning with painting (priced separately) |
|---|---|---|
| 100 m² | about PLN 1,500 | painting about PLN 4,000 |
| 150 m² | about PLN 2,300 | painting about PLN 6,000 |
| 250 m² | about PLN 3,800 | painting about PLN 10,000 |
What determines the labour price for facade cleaning?
The labour price for facade cleaning depends mainly on the type of soiling and access to the walls. Companies quote for the job after inspecting the building or photographs, taking the following into account:
- Level of soiling. Water alone removes dust and dirt. Algae, moss and fungi require a biocidal treatment that must be left to work before rinsing, which is why mould and algae removal costs about 20 PLN/m².
- Type of facade. Mineral and acrylic render can withstand high pressure, silicone and silicate render require gentler cleaning, while stone, brick and wood need dedicated products.
- Height and access. A single-storey house can be cleaned from the ground or a ladder, while a two-storey building often requires a cherry picker, which the company either includes in the price or charges for separately.
- Area. The larger the facade, the lower the rate per m², as travel and preparation costs are spread over more square metres.
- Protecting the surroundings. Windows, plants and wooden elements must be covered to protect them from the cleaning product, which takes time.
Facade cleaning and painting: price per m2
Facade cleaning and painting are two separate services: cleaning typically costs 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m², while painting with priming and two coats of paint typically costs 40 ‑ 47 PLN/m². Companies offering a comprehensive painting service usually include cleaning and surface preparation in the price, so you do not pay for them twice. For cheaper offers, especially labour-only quotes, ask whether cleaning is included.
| Service | Median | Typically | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Facade cleaning | 15 PLN/m² | 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m² | 7 |
| Façade painting | 40 PLN/m² | 40 ‑ 47 PLN/m² | 5 |
| Façade (render over insulation) | 60 PLN/m² | 56 ‑ 63 PLN/m² | 3 |
| Roof cleaning | 18 PLN/m² | 17 ‑ 20 PLN/m² | 5 |
| Paving stone cleaning | 13 PLN/m² | 9.50 ‑ 17 PLN/m² | 6 |
Median and typical range from public price lists, as at 5 October 2026. Each price includes a source and quotation on the service page.
Applying new render over insulation is on a completely different cost scale: the labour alone costs about 60 PLN/m², while we cover the prices of the complete system in the article facade price per m2 including labour. Find out more about painting on the façade painting page.
Is facade cleaning worthwhile?
Facade cleaning is worthwhile when the render is intact and the only problems are dirt, algae or streaks: it costs about 15 PLN/m², several times less than painting at about 40 PLN/m². After cleaning, a facade usually looks good for several years, especially if the company applies a protective treatment that slows the return of algae. Painting only makes sense when the paint is peeling, the render is cracked or discolouration that water cannot remove remains after cleaning.
It is also worth remembering that cleaning is an essential preparation step before painting. If you are planning to paint within the next year or two anyway, it is better to book a comprehensive service straight away.
How long does it take to clean a house facade?
Cleaning the facade of a detached house usually takes one to two days. The first stage is protecting the windows and plants, followed by applying a treatment that is left to work for between several minutes and several hours, then rinsing. When removing mould and algae, some companies return after a few days to apply a protective treatment. Cleaning should be planned for a dry, frost-free day without strong sunlight, ideally between spring and autumn.
Should you pressure-wash a facade yourself or hire a company?
Pressure-washing a facade yourself is cheaper, but it is easy to damage the render with excessive pressure or force water beneath window sills and into gaps in the insulation. A company selects the pressure and cleaning product to suit the type of render, has a cherry picker and is liable for damage. DIY cleaning can make sense for a single-storey house with mineral render, but for a two-storey house or silicone render it is better to hire professionals for about 15 PLN/m².
How much does cleaning the facade of a block of flats cost?
Cleaning the facade of a block of flats or tenement building is priced at the same rate per m², typically 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m², but the price usually also includes a long-reach cherry picker, rope-access workers or scaffolding. For a large area, the rate per m² may be closer to the lower end because travel and preparation costs are spread over thousands of square metres. The housing association or co-operative decides on the work, usually collecting several quotes and comparing their price per m² for the full scope of work. Drones, which apply the cleaning product without scaffolding, are increasingly used on buildings taller than four storeys.
How much does facade cleaning cost in Warsaw and Kraków?
We do not yet have local median facade cleaning prices for individual cities, so the national range of 15 ‑ 17 PLN/m² serves as the benchmark. In large cities such as Warsaw, Kraków and Poznań, rates may be closer to the upper end because of higher labour costs and time spent travelling in traffic. Lower rates are easier to find in smaller localities, but fewer companies there specialise in facade cleaning, so travelling from farther away may increase the price.
How can you avoid overpaying for facade cleaning?
- Ask for a quote based on photographs of all the walls and a rate per m² with mould and algae removal itemised separately.
- Ask about the cherry picker and travel. These are the items most often charged in addition to the rate per m².
- Combine services. Booking roof cleaning, typically 17 ‑ 20 PLN/m², and paving-stone cleaning at 9.50 ‑ 17 PLN/m² with the same company reduces travel costs. Details are available on the roof cleaning and paving stone cleaning pages.
- Check which cleaning product the company uses and whether it is safe for plants and animals.
- Ask about a protective treatment after cleaning to slow the return of algae.
