At a glance (as at 5 October 2026)
- 3D panel fencing with materials and installation usually costs 98 ‑ 170 PLN/linear metre, with a median of 135 PLN/linear metre.
- Budget 3D panel fencing without a concrete base costs about 46 PLN/linear metre with installation.
- At the median price, 100 metres of panel fencing costs about PLN 14,000, typically PLN 9,800 ‑ 17,000, excluding the driveway gate and pedestrian gate.
- A driveway gate costs about PLN 3,400, while a panel pedestrian gate costs about PLN 925.
- Fencing the entire perimeter of a plot of about 1000 m² costs around PLN 25,000, according to the sources.

Panel fencing is now the most popular way to enclose a plot: it is quick to install, requires no painting and provides a predictable price per metre. However, the final bill depends on several decisions: whether it will have a concrete base, which panels you choose, the length of the plot’s perimeter and whether you add a driveway gate and pedestrian gate. Below, we present medians from public price lists, calculate examples for 50 and 100 metres and for a 1000 m² plot, and compare panels with chain-link fencing.
How much does a metre of panel fencing with installation cost?
A linear metre of 3D panel fencing with materials and installation usually costs 98 ‑ 170 PLN/linear metre, while the median from price lists collected by indekscen.pl is 135 PLN/linear metre. The full range is wide: the cheapest offers start at 40 PLN/linear metre, while the most expensive reach 300 PLN/linear metre. The difference mainly depends on whether the price includes a concrete base and the thickness of the panel wire.
The per-metre rate usually includes digging holes for the posts, setting the posts in concrete, installing the panels and concrete base, and clearing the site. Material transport, the pedestrian gate, driveway gate and gate automation are charged separately. Always ask exactly what the quoted amount includes, as two offers with the same rate can differ by several thousand PLN over the entire perimeter.

How much does 100 metres of panel fencing cost?
At the median price, 100 metres of 3D panel fencing with installation costs about PLN 14,000, with a typical range of PLN 9,800 ‑ 17,000. This is the price of the fence alone, excluding the driveway gate and pedestrian gate. For longer sections, the rate per metre usually falls because the crew spreads its travel and preparation costs over more work.
How do you calculate the cost for your own plot? Measure the perimeter, subtract the width of the driveway gate and pedestrian gate, then multiply the result by the rate per metre. Next, add the separate items:
| Fencing element | Cost according to price lists |
|---|---|
| 3D panel fencing with installation, 100 m | PLN 14,000 |
| 3D panel fencing with installation, 50 m | PLN 6,800 |
| Budget 3D panel without a concrete base, per metre | 46 PLN/linear metre |
| Panel pedestrian gate | PLN 925 |
| Driveway gate | PLN 3,400 |
| Gate installation (service only) | PLN 975 |
An example from the price lists also shows the cost of a complete project: according to the source, 50 m of fencing with a concrete base and pedestrian gate costs about PLN 6,000.
Which type of fencing is the cheapest?
Galvanised chain-link fencing is the cheapest option: according to the sources, the material alone costs about 28 PLN/linear metre. Budget 3D panels without a concrete base come second, at about 46 PLN/linear metre with installation. Both options are clearly cheaper than the median for all fencing (135 PLN/linear metre) because they omit the concrete base, which is one of the more expensive items.
At the other end of the scale are 2D panels made from thicker wire with a poured concrete base, costing about 140 PLN/linear metre. A 2D panel is more rigid and withstands people leaning against it better, while a poured concrete base is more durable than a prefabricated one, but you pay for both with every metre.
Cheap fencing does not have to mean poor-quality fencing. The greatest savings come not from the panels themselves, but from the length and scope of the work: a straight perimeter without corners, posts on level ground and no old fence to break up can reduce the bill more than choosing a cheaper manufacturer.
Panel or chain-link fencing: which is better?
Chain-link fencing is better when the lowest price matters and you need to enclose a long perimeter, such as agricultural land or the rear of a property. Panel fencing is better when the fence will face the street, needs to look smart for years and must not bend.
A practical comparison:
- Price. Chain-link fencing material costs about 28 PLN/linear metre, while 3D panels with installation range from about 46 PLN/linear metre for a budget version to the median of 135 PLN/linear metre.
- Rigidity. Chain-link fencing bulges over time and requires wire tensioning, while panels retain their shape.
- Installation. Chain-link fencing must be carefully tensioned between posts, while panels are simply attached to the posts with clamps.
- Appearance and durability. Galvanised and powder-coated panels, most commonly graphite-coloured, look modern and require no painting. Galvanised chain-link fencing is inexpensive to repair but is more easily damaged.
A common compromise is to use panels at the front of the plot and chain-link fencing along the sides and rear. This gives the plot a smart appearance from the street, while the entire perimeter costs considerably less than an all-panel fence.
How much does it cost to fence a 1000 m² plot?
According to an example from the sources, fencing the entire perimeter of a plot of about 1000 m² costs around PLN 25,000. A square plot of this size has a perimeter of about 126 m, while an elongated plot, typical of agricultural subdivisions, can exceed 150 m, so plots with the same area can have very different fencing costs.
For comparison, 150 metres of panel fencing at the median price costs about PLN 20,000, typically PLN 15,000 ‑ 26,000. Add a driveway gate (about PLN 3,400) and a pedestrian gate (about PLN 925). If you want a powered sliding gate, gate installation, the power supply and automation are charged separately.
Before fencing a plot, it is worth making sure exactly where the boundary lies. Having a surveyor re-establish the boundaries has a median cost of PLN 2,000 and is particularly advisable when the boundary markers are not visible or a neighbour disagrees about the boundary line. Details are available at surveyor (service).
How can you fence a plot cheaply?
You can fence a plot cheaply by choosing 3D panels without a concrete base or chain-link fencing, using a better-quality fence at the front and a cheaper option elsewhere, and arranging installation outside the peak season. Specific ways to reduce the bill include:
- Treat the front separately from the rest of the perimeter. Use panels with a concrete base only along the street, and chain-link fencing or budget panels along the sides.
- Skip the concrete base where it is not needed. A version without a concrete base costs about 46 PLN/linear metre per metre.
- Buy the materials together with installation. Many contractors offer a better price for a complete package than for labour alone (55 PLN/linear metre) added to materials bought from a DIY store.
- Order in autumn or early spring. Installation crews have more availability then.
- Prepare the site yourself. You can cut down shrubs and remove the old fence yourself if the contractor charges separately for this work.
Do not cut costs on the posts or the concrete used to set them. After just one winter, a poorly set post can make an entire section lean, and repairing it costs more than installing it properly in the first place.
Does a fence need to be notified to the authorities?
Under Polish construction law, an ordinary fence up to 2.20 m high requires neither planning permission nor notification. A higher fence must be notified to the county authority. However, local regulations, such as a local spatial development plan, may specify the appearance and height of a front fence, so check with the municipal or county office before placing an order.
What should you ask a fencing contractor?
- Does the price per metre include the concrete base, and is it prefabricated or poured?
- How thick is the panel wire, and what type of protective finish is used, galvanising or powder coating?
- How deep are the posts set in concrete, and how does the contractor handle sloping ground?
- Is material transport included in the price, or charged separately?
- Are the driveway gate and pedestrian gate included in the offer, and does gate installation include preparation for automation?
