Company price lists look similar, but differ in what is included: the number of services, the type of cubicle and the delivery distance. We break down the cost based on public price lists.
How much does it cost to hire a toi toi for a month?
Monthly toi toi hire most often costs 189 PLN/month, according to 3 price lists collected by indekscen.pl, with a typical range of 175 ‑ 280 PLN/month. Companies charge for a 28-day cycle (4 weeks), rather than a calendar month, so there are 13 such periods in a year, not 12.
The price usually includes a basic cubicle, one service per cycle (emptying, cleaning and restocking toilet paper) and delivery within a specified distance. The most expensive options, up to 486 PLN/month, are cubicles with a hand-washing basin and flushing system. Details and sources are available at portable toilet hire (toi toi).

Toi toi hire price for one day
Hiring a toi toi for one day costs almost as much as hiring one for a week, around PLN 200. Most of the cost covers delivery, positioning, collection and emptying the cubicle, and these tasks are the same whether the toilet is there for one day or seven. Therefore, you should not expect a much lower price for a single afternoon in the garden.
For an event, the number of cubicles depends on the number of guests and the event’s duration. For a wedding in a marquee, organisers usually order several cubicles, ideally with hand-washing basins. We break down the cost of the rest of the reception in the article how much does a wedding cost.
How much does it cost to hire a toi toi for a construction site?
Hiring a toi toi for a house construction site costs the same as hiring one for a plot of land, most often 189 PLN/month for 28 days. Building a house to the shell stage usually takes several months, while the entire construction takes a year or longer, so:
- 3 months (3 cycles) costs around PLN 570, typically PLN 530 ‑ 840,
- one year (13 cycles) costs around PLN 2,500, typically PLN 2,300 ‑ 3,600.
This is a small item in the overall budget, which we cover in the article cost of building a house. You may also need skip for rubble on the same site, which has a median cost of PLN 800 for delivery and collection (read more in the article skip hire: price list).
How much does it cost to empty a toi toi?
Emptying a toi toi is usually included in the hire price: one service per 28-day cycle. If several workers are on site or the toilet is used heavily, one service a month is not enough and more frequent servicing must be ordered. Hire with more frequent servicing and a better cubicle model typically costs 280 ‑ 340 PLN/month for 28 days, while companies add any extra emptying beyond the allowance to the bill separately.
What affects the cost of hiring a portable toilet?
The cost of hiring a portable toilet mainly depends on four factors:
- Cubicle equipment. A model with a hand-washing basin and flushing system is more expensive than a basic one.
- Service frequency. Each additional emptying increases the price.
- Travel distance. Companies include delivery within a specified distance limit and charge extra beyond it.
- Hire period. Short-term hire for an event is much more expensive per day than hire in 28-day cycles.
We do not yet have local medians for individual cities. In Warsaw, Kraków, Poznań or Gdańsk, it is worth comparing quotes with the national median of 189 PLN/month, while remembering the surcharge for travel outside the city.
How many portable toilets should you order for an event or construction site?
One cubicle is usually enough for a detached house construction site with one crew, costing around 189 PLN/month for 28 days. For a larger construction site or several crews working at once, companies recommend more cubicles or more frequent servicing, as one toilet fills up quickly with heavy use.
For an event, the number of guests and its duration matter. One or two cubicles are usually enough for a garden party lasting a few hours with several dozen guests. For a wedding in a marquee with one hundred guests or more, organisers order several, ideally with hand-washing basins. Each event cubicle costs around PLN 200, so it is worth asking for a volume discount when ordering several. For mass events, fairs and concerts, the local authority or sanitary inspectorate may stipulate the number of cubicles the organiser must provide.
Should you hire or buy a portable toilet?
Hiring a portable toilet is almost always more cost-effective for construction sites and events, because the price of 189 PLN/month per cycle includes emptying, cleaning and transport. If you buy your own cubicle, you need to arrange a waste collection tanker, buy chemicals and keep it clean yourself. Once construction is complete, the cubicle is no longer needed.
Buying one is more likely to make sense for a recreational plot used over many years, where the toilet remains in place throughout the season and is rarely used. We do not have the purchase price of a cubicle in our index, so compare it with the cost of hiring one for a full year, around PLN 2,500, and add the cost of emptying. For a plot without a sewer connection, a permanent solution may also be a domestic sewage treatment plant, which we cover in the article domestic sewage treatment plant: price with installation.
How to order a toi toi without overpaying
You can order a toi toi by phone or using a form on the company’s website, providing the address, dates and number of cubicles. Before ordering, ask about:
- whether the price is net or gross, as companies often quote net prices,
- the number of services included in the price and the cost of each additional service,
- the travel distance limit and the rate for each kilometre beyond it,
- the minimum hire period and whether the cycle begins on the delivery date,
- access for the service vehicle: the waste collection tanker must be able to get close to the cubicle, otherwise servicing may not be possible.
