What affects the price
- number of blocks/specimens: more material to examine means a higher price (one block is included in the basic rate)
- size and type of material: a small specimen costs less than a larger lesion or lymph node
- additional immunohistochemical tests ordered by the pathologist if the findings are unclear incur a separate surcharge
- facility and city: clinic prices in the same city may differ severalfold

The price depends mainly on the number of blocks/specimens and the size of the material: the cheapest basic examination of a single sample often costs PLN 50-60, while larger or more complex material costs several hundred PLN.
