Since 1 January 2024, the rules for NFZ reimbursement of lower-limb prostheses have changed. Some prosthetic centres offer prostheses with no patient contribution under an NFZ application and funding from PCPR/MOPS.

Questions about the price
Does the NFZ cover prosthetic legs?
Yes, the NFZ reimburses lower-limb prostheses upon referral from a specialist (since 2020, the referral no longer needs to be certified by the NFZ), and the reimbursement rules changed on 1 January 2024.
How much do lower-limb prostheses cost?
From approx. PLN 3500-4500 for a simpler below-knee prosthesis to tens of thousands, or even over PLN 100 thousand, for an advanced myoelectric prosthesis.
How much does a thigh prosthesis cost?
From approx. PLN 5500 (the NFZ rate for a modular prosthesis) to PLN 20 000-80 000 for more advanced models with a knee mechanism.
