The unit covers terraces made of any material, not just wood, because this is the unit used by the largest number of sources to quote prices. A ground-level terrace of up to 35 m² does not require planning permission or notification (legal position as of 7 January 2026); larger terraces require notification or planning permission.

How much does it cost to build a 20m2 terrace?
A complete terrace costs from PLN 300 to over PLN 1000 per m²; for the popular size of 20-25 m², this means an expense of around PLN 7000-25000.
What is the cheapest type of terrace?
Domestic timber boards (pine, spruce) are the cheapest, starting at approx. PLN 50/m², although they require annual treatment; a ground-level pine deck (25 m²) costs an estimated PLN 9300-14750.
Does building a terrace require planning permission in 2026?
Since 7 January 2026, a ground-level terrace of up to 35 m² requires neither planning permission nor notification. A terrace of 35-50 m² requires notification, while one exceeding 50 m² requires planning permission.
How much does it cost to build a concrete terrace?
A concrete terrace made from slabs or paving blocks is usually the cheapest option: approximately PLN 250-600 per m², including materials and installation.
