What affects the price

  • type of metal: silver is cheaper, gold is more expensive (depending on fineness)
  • presence and type of gemstones set in the ring
  • difficulty of the alteration and extent of the size reduction (number of sizes)
  • city and specific jeweller's workshop

Much of the evidence for this service was unrelated to jewellery services (including breast reduction in plastic surgery, Botox, a pre-insulated pipe price list, a chain, engine oil consumption and prices in US dollars) - these pages were excluded as irrelevant to the service. Prices of jewellery for sale (rather than alteration services) were also excluded.

Prices from customers and companies

Two types of entries: customers state how much they paid for the entire job and rate the contractor; service providers enter their price lists. Customer entries have three reliability levels: ✓ verified: invoice or receipt (the editorial team has seen a document matching the entry), ✓ verified: declaration (the author confirmed the entry using a link sent by e-mail) and unverified (how we verify entries); we do not verify company price lists. Price lists entered by companies are not included in the median at the top of the page; customer amounts are included only for services priced as a complete service.

Questions about the price

How much does it cost to resize a ring?

It depends on the metal and the size adjustment: resizing a silver ring by one size usually costs PLN 20-70, and a gold ring PLN 70-150, depending on the gold fineness and the difficulty of the work. General jewellers' price lists that do not distinguish between metals usually quote PLN 50-300.

What should you do if a ring is too large?

It must be taken to a jeweller for resizing: the cost is usually PLN 20-70 for silver and PLN 70-150 for gold, depending on the extent of the alteration.
